The Rizal Historic Trail commemorates the enduring connection between Germany and the Philippines, highlighted during the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025. Created by the Wilhelmsfeld-Heidelberg Chapter of the Knights of Rizal in partnership with the Municipality of Wilhelmsfeld, the trail retraces the route that Dr. José Rizal walked between Wilhelmsfeld and Heidelberg in 1886 while studying ophthalmology. Connecting key Rizal memorial sites, the trail offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience local history, cultural heritage, and the lasting legacy of the Philippine national hero.
