The Balikbayan Privilege may likewise be extended to your spouse and children (depending on their nationality). Spouses and children holding German passports may avail of the Balikbayan Privilege, provided they enter the Philippines together with you, the former Filipino citizen.

Upon arrival in the Philippines, please inform the Immigration Officer that you wish to avail yourself of the Balikbayan Privilege.

No. Travelers who are qualified to avail of the Balikbayan Privilege are not required by the Philippine Bureau of Immigration to present a return/outbound ticket. If you are going to the Philippines to study or to undergo internship, you may apply for 9A visa. You may then directly inquire with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) upon arrival at your port of entry on how to have it converted to a 9F visa (student visa) or a Special Study Permit (depending on the BI’s assessment).
