ABOUT US

Re-established in 2018, the Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt implements Philippine foreign policy goals and cultivates closer ties with the growing Filipino-German community across seven federal states: Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarbrücken, and Thuringia. It serves as a vital bridge between the Philippines and Germany, advancing diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations in the region. 

The Consulate is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of overseas Filipinos, enhancing trade and investment partnerships, and promoting Philippine culture, arts, and national identity. It delivers efficient consular services, conducts regular outreach missions, and provides assistance-to-nationals programs to meet the needs of its constituents.

Centrally located in Frankfurt’s Westend district, the Consulate operates from Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (excluding Philippine and German holidays), at WestendCarree, 1st Floor,  Grüneburgweg 16-18, 60322, Frankfurt am Main. It stands as a dynamic hub for diplomacy, public service, and community engagement at the heart of Germany.

ADMINISTRATION

Under the leadership of Consul General Marie Yvette L. Banzon Abalos, the Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt is driven by a dedicated team committed to excellence and service. Together with partners from the Department of Tourism Office in Frankfurt, the Migrant Workers Affairs Office in Berlin, and the Office of Agricultural Attache in Brussels, and in close collaboration with the Philippine Honorary Consuls in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, they respond proactively to challenges through a technology-driven approach. This ensures a future-ready, sustainable, and gender-sensitive organization that upholds inclusivity, resilience, and the highest standards of diplomatic and consular work.

CELEBRATING CULTURE, CONNECTING FILIPINOS

From universities to book fairs, concert halls to digital platforms—the Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt proudly champions Filipino culture and empowers a vibrant, connected community across Germany.

  • Ube Fiesta in Germany

    Celebrated Filipino culinary heritage in Sankt Augustin, Oberasbach, Wiesbaden, and Stuttgart; drew 15,000+ attendees and raised demand for ube among German consumers.

  • Philippine Studies Program

    Supported by Sen. Loren Legarda, the program institutionalized Tagalog language and PH-focused studies at Ruhr University in Bochum; facilitated academic exchange between Filipino and German scholars.

  • Frankfurt Book Fair

    Coordinated PH participation (2019–2024); led preparations for the Philippines as 2025 Guest of Honor at the Frankfurter Buchmesse.

  • Rizal and Heritage Projects

    Launched the Rizal and heritage video wall; facilitated the donation of Rizaliana furniture (2019, 2024); sustained Rizal’s legacy through walking tours, forums, engagements with Knights of Rizal and the production of several Rizal documentary films, such as Rizal’s German Connections & Finding Rizal in a Time of Barriers.

  • Showcasing Filipino Arts

    Presented top-tier Filipino artists and groups including Pundaquit Virtuosi (2019), and the PH Madrigal Singers (2024) and visual artists through various art exhibitions.

  • Digital Diplomacy

    Produced engaging digital content through Frankfurt PCG Digital; amplified Philippine culture and values to both Filipino and German audiences online.

CONSULAR SERVICES

The Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt offers a full range of consular services at its premises in Frankfurt, as well as regular consular outreach missions in the areas with the largest concentration of Filipinos within its jurisdiction. These include:

  • Passports

    The Consulate processes both new passport and passport renewal applications, as well as Travel Document applications in emergency cases.

  • Visa

    The Consulate processes both immigrant and non-immigrant visa applications in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Philippines.

  • Civil Registry

    The Consulate registers the births, marriages, and deaths of Filipino citizens that occur within its jurisdiction.

  • Authentication and Notarials

    The Consulate provides legalization services for documents executed in or issued by German authorities within its jurisdiction (that are to be used in the Philippines.

  • Filipino Citizenship

    The Consulate processes the citizenship reacquisition/retention applications of former Filipinos under Republic Act no. 9225.

ADVANCING PHILIPPINE ECONOMIC INTERESTS

The Philippine Consulate General works closely with partner agencies and the private sector to promote trade and investment between the two countries and support Philippine delegations participating in Germany’s many trade fairs.

OVERSEAS VOTING

The Consulate also works closely with COMELEC to register Filipinos for overseas voting to allow the latter to participate in national elections even while living abroad.
