28 September 2026 21:30 — The Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt (PCG Frankfurt) confirms that the majority of Filipino nationals affected by the bus accident on the A96 near Buchloe, Bavaria, have been discharged from various hospitals across Bavaria and cleared to travel back to Milan.
A team led by Consul General Marie Yvette Banzon Abalos is in Munich to coordinate assistance for the affected Filipino nationals and their families. The team is joined by an OWWA Rapid Response Team led by Administrator PY Caunan and Philippine Honorary Consul in Munich Dr. Stefan Detig.
A number of Filipino nationals remain under medical care for serious injuries. The team continues to coordinate with the hospitals and relevant German authorities to monitor their condition and provide appropriate assistance.
The team has spoken with the doctors caring for the injured Filipinos to assess their condition and needs and coordinate appropriate assistance. PCG Frankfurt, together with OWWA, the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Munich, and relevant Philippine and German authorities, continues to coordinate closely on the welfare of the affected individuals and their families.
Finally, PCG Frankfurt expresses its gratitude and appreciation to the German first responders and care workers, including the Red Cross Landsberg, for their swift response, dedicated service, and continued care for those affected by the accident.
