REQUIREMENTS FOR THE RENEWAL OF SOON-TO-EXPIRE PASSPORTS OF ADULT APPLICANTS
Simple Renewal of Passports (No Change in Name)
- Personal Appearance
- Printout of the accomplished passport application form sent with the email confirmation of your appointment
- Current e-Passport and photocopy of passport data page
- Original PSA-issued documents that will support any requested change of name:
- PSA-issued Marriage Certificate or PSA-issued Report of Marriage;
- Annotated PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth;
- Annotated PSA-issued Marriage Certificate to show annulment/divorce/court ordered instruction; and/or
- Certificate of Death of spouse.
- Present German residency permit (Aufenthaltstitel) or Schengen visa and photocopy of the permit/visa
- Foreign passport (for dual citizens)
- Passport fee €60,00 payable only in cash
- Passport release can either be in person or by mail/courier.
- For applicants who wish to receive their new passport by mail, you may choose to submit a self-addressed return envelope with €4,45 in stamps for registered mail within Germany or €6.20 within the EU, or a private courier service (e.g. DHL).
NOTE: The Consulate has no control over postal operations and delivery services. You are encouraged to use a courier service to facilitate the return of your passport as they provide a more secure way of tracking shipments and, thus, minimize instances of lost package.
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
Pursuant to Section 6 of R.A. 11983, supporting documents will be further required in addition to the basic requirements to prove the applicant’s identity, citizenship and lack of travel restrictions, as specified in the following cases:
Note: Some cases will require the application to be treated as a New Application rather than a renewal.
In case of a Lost VALID ePassport
- Police Report in English; and
- Notarized Affidavit of Loss in English.
Note: If a photocopy of the applicant’s latest issued passport is not available, on top of the requirements above, the PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth will be required and will be treated as a new applicant. Additional supporting documents may be required, as necessary to ascertain citizenship, identity and lack of travel restrictions.
In case of a Lost EXPIRED ePassport
- Police Report in English; and
- Notarized Affidavit of Loss in English.
- Additional supporting documents may be required, as necessary to ascertain citizenship, identity and lack of travel restrictions.
Note: If a photocopy of the applicant’s latest issued passport is not available, on top of the requirements above, the PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth will be required and will be treated as a new applicant.
In case of renewal of a frequently Lost Passport
- Police Report in English; and
- Notarized Affidavit of Loss in English.
- Additional supporting documents may be required, as necessary to ascertain citizenship, identity and lack of travel restrictions.
Note: If a photocopy of the applicant’s latest issued passport is not available, on top of the requirements above, the PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth will be required and will be treated as a new applicant. For applicants with Unclaimed Passports issued 2010 onwards
- Applicant may request for a Certificate of Unclaimed Passport either at the office where the unclaimed passport was issued, nearest consular office or at DFA Aseana; and
- Applicants with unclaimed passports will be treated as a New Applicant. As such, applicants may refer to the links provided below for the requirements.
In case applicant used a Travel Document to travel back to the Philippines
- Original Travel Document; and
- Notarized Affidavit of Explanation.
- Additional supporting documents may be required, as necessary to ascertain citizenship, identity and travel restrictions.
In case applicant lost the Travel Document used to travel back to the Philippines
- Original Travel Records from Bureau of Immigration; and
- Notarized Affidavit of Explanation.
- Additional supporting documents may be required, as necessary to ascertain citizenship, identity and travel restrictions.
In case passport has been mutilated or damaged
- Notarized Affidavit of Explanation.
- Additional supporting documents may be required, as necessary to ascertain citizenship, identity and lack of travel restrictions.
Note: On top of the requirements above, the PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth will be required and will be treated as a new applicant.
In case applicant is a Dual Citizen
- Natural-born Dual Citizens (born to one Filipino parent and one foreign parent):
- Latest-issued Philippine passport; and
- PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth or PSA-issued Report of Birth.
- Dual Citizens who availed of the provisions of Republic Act No. 9225:
- Latest-issued Philippine passport;
- Original and photocopy of Oath of Allegiance, Order of Approval, or Identification Certificate issued by a Philippine FSP; or Certificate of Retention/Re-acquisition of Philippine Citizenship or any equivalent document issued by BI; and
- Valid government-issued ID or their secondary citizenship/residence counterparts.
In case applicant is a Naturalized Citizen
- Latest-issued Philippine passport; and
- Identification Certificate of Naturalization from the Bureau of Immigration, or Certificate of Naturalization issued by the Special Committee on Naturalization (SCN), or copy of the final Court Judgment or Law granting Philippine citizenship.
In case applicant is a Filipino citizen by Election
- Latest-issued Philippine passport;
- Documents of election of Philippine citizenship; and
- Identification Certificate issued by the BI.
