EFFECTIVE 15 JULY 2024, THE PHILIPPINE consulate WILL SUSPEND THE AUTHENTICATION OF AU PAIR CONTRACTS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, PENDING RESOLUTION OF POLICY ISSUES.
SPONSORING A FILIPINO AU PAIR
Currently, German host families may sponsor an au pair from the Philippines. To ensure that the au pair will be allowed to leave the Philippines, the prescribed Au Pair contract must be signed in the original by the au pair and the host family. The contract must be authenticated by the Consulate and the original copy must be sent to the au pair in the Philippines.
Below are the complete requirements:
- Au Pair Contract (1 original + 1 copy)
- Host and Au Pair Information Sheet (1 original)
- Copy of Passport/Identification card of Host
- Copy of Passport of Au Pair
- Copy of visa of Au Pair, if available

NOTE: Documents should be printed or photocopied using one side of the paper only. Back-to-back printouts or copies of any documents, including supporting documents, will not be accepted.
AUTHENTICATION OF THE AU PAIR CONTRACT
The host (father/mother) must appear in person at the Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt and sign the original au pair contract before a Consular Officer. The host (father/mother) must provide a copy of their passport or personal identification.
If personal appearance is not possible, the original au pair contract must be brought to a German Notar and Landgericht prior to authentication by the Consulate. Please refer to the complete information below.
PROCEDURE
A. If sending the documents by post, please follow the below steps:
- Have the Contract notarized by a German Notar and pre-authenticated by the relevant German District Court (Landgericht).
- Submit the document/s via email for pre-assessment – Please send the scanned copies of the documents to legalization.frankfurtpcg@gmail.com. The Authentication officer will assesses the completeness of the emailed submission, and will inform you if the documents are ok to be sent by post.
- Mail your documents to the Consulate – Once the emailed documents have been determined to be complete and in order by the Consular Officer, you will be instructed to mail your complete document set, including your Checklist of Requirements, to:

You must include your proof of payment (Überweisungsbeleg) of €25.00 per document, one (1) photocopy for of your complete document set per Affidavit to be legalized, and a self-addressed envelope with €4.25 Deutsche Post stamps or a pre-paid envelope from a private courier service (e.g. UPS, DHL, FedEx ) that will be used to send back your documents. The Consulate assumes no liability for any loss of documents once they have been handed over to the German Post Office/courier service.
B. If submitting the documents personally, please book an appointment here and prepare the following:
- Filled up but unsigned Contract (2 copies per document to be legalized)
- Complete supporting documents (original and 2 photocopies per document to be legalized)
- Payment of €25.00 in cash per document to be legalized
- Self-addressed return envelope with EUR 4,25 postal stamps that will be used to send back your documents
PROCESSING TIMES
Express processing: An applicant who appears PERSONALLY at the Philippine Embassy in Berlin may pay an additional fee of €10.00 (per document) for the document to be processed and released the NEXT WORKING DAY. The processed document(s) may be picked up personally, or mailed back through a self-addressed pre-paid return envelope. Express processing cannot be released on the same day.
Regular processing: For regular processing, applicants may return to the Embassy to claim the processed document/s after five (5) working days or have it mailed back through a self-addressed pre-paid return envelope.

NOTE: The Consulate follows the “NO REFUND POLICY” on fees paid by applicants for actual services rendered by the Consulate.
