The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), along with its 94 Embassies, Consulates General and Permanent Missions all over the world pay tribute to our Overseas Filipino Workers, this Migrant Workers’ Day.
Every year, Migrant Workers’ Day is being celebrated by virtue of the enactment of Republic Act No. 8042 or the Migrant Workers Act (as amended by RA 10022) on 07 June 1995, a landmark law which aims to advance the well-being of OFWs, their families, and Filipinos in distress.
Even during this time of pandemic, people across the globe are witnesses to the valuable contributions of our migrant workers, our modern-day-heroes!
In this regard, the DFA remains resolute to protecting and promoting the rights and welfare of Filipino migrant workers, wherever they may be.
