National Heritage Month 2020 – Piña Handloom Weaving of the Aklanon

Apart from the four elements of the Philippines’ intangible cultural heritage already included in UNESCO’s list, there are numerous elements that are being proposed for nomination by the Philippines for inclusion in the intangible cultural heritage lists within the coming few years.

Kalibo piña weaving of the Aklanon people of Aklan is on top of the list.

Appreciate our rich cultural heritage for the enjoyment of present and future generations, know more about the stories of our heritage.
