PH GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES PUBLIC PORTAL ON HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE

August 25, 2020

PASAY CITY 24 August 2020 –  Pursuant to President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s directive to ensure transparency and accountability in managing and allocating resources to the intended beneficiaries, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and Office of Civil Defense (OCD) launched today the Philippine Humanitarian Assistance Registry (PHAR) website.

PHAR is the primary government website for information, inquiries, and procedures on all local and foreign humanitarian assistance to the Philippine Government, including in-kind and financial donations, and deployment of humanitarian workers for COVID-19 as well as other future pandemics and civil and natural disasters.

Information on the distribution and utilization of humanitarian assistance to the intended beneficiaries may be viewed on the website.

The PHAR initiative was presented by the DFA to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) during its meeting on 17 August 2020.

This inter-agency effort was made under the ambit of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of the Philippines(NDRRMC), as the Philippine Government’s primary mechanism on disaster preparedness, relief operations and rehabilitation efforts.

The public is invited to read up on the infographics through the link below and visit the PHAR website at www.phar.gov.ph. END
