STUTTGART’s PH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION UNDERSCORES DEEPENING FILIPINO-GERMAN SYNERGY

June 12, 2025

12 June 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt, led by Consul General Ivy Banzon-Abalos, joined the 127th Philippine Independence Day celebration hosted by Honorary Consul Dr. Axel Neumahr at the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Stuttgart, with Wilhelmsfeld Mayor Tobias Dangel and key Filipino-German community leaders in attendance. The meaningful gathering not only commemorated the enduring spirit of Philippine freedom but also highlighted the growing bonds and collaborative spirit between Filipinos and Germans in the region. The Consulate continues to work closely with the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Stuttgart to deepen this synergy and strengthen cultural and community ties. As part of the event, a curated exhibition showcased Philippine literary works recently translated into German, providing a rich literary preview ahead of the Philippines’ role as Guest of Honour at the 2025 Frankfurt Book Fair. The Consulate also expressed appreciation to the Filipino community in Baden-Württemberg for their active engagement in the upcoming Ube Fiesta, part of the Kalayaan 2025 festivities, recognizing their vital role in celebrating and promoting Filipino culture in Germany.
