In her remarks during the Day of Nations/Festival of Integration celebration, Vice Consul Fatima Mueller emphasized the contributions of the Filipino-German community in Neu Isenburg in Hesse. The Philippines joined other nations such as Italy, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Ukraine, and Ethiopia during the town’s traditional celebration this year.

 

The Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt joined the Filipino Mission of the Archdiocese of Cologne headed by Faher Rodel Liguid during the traditional Flores de Mayo/Santacruzan parade. It was followed by the celebration of the Holy Mass which gave reverence to ube as a valuable Philippine root crop.

The Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt collaborated with KUNST Filipino Artists to stage an art exhibition entitled “Art of Ube,” featuring 17 artworks depicting ube in various themes and settings such cultivating, harvesting and cooking of ube, ube as part of the FIlipino fiesta tradition and abstract/still art with ube as the subject.
