FILIPINOS IN GERMANY URGED TO REFLECT ON RIZAL’s LEGACY AND HUMANITY DURING RIZAL RITES IN WILHELMSFELD

December 31, 2024

Dr. Jose Rizal’s enduring legacy was honored at the annual Rizal Day Commemoration held today, 30 December, at Rizal Park in Wilhelmsfeld. In her remarks, Consul Cecille Joyce Lao emphasized the importance of reflecting on Rizal’s extraordinary life, urging everyone to seek humanity in his legacy and discover Rizal within themselves. The event, led by Dr. Tobias Dangel, Mayor of Wilhelmsfeld, and Sir Herbert Ehses of the Knights of Rizal Wilhelmsfeld/Heidelberg Chapter, culminated in a solemn wreath-laying ceremony. This cherished tradition not only commemorates Rizal’s impact but also strengthens the enduring ties between the Filipino and German communities. END
