“Kalayaan 2020: Tungo sa Bansang Malaya, Nagbabayanihan, at Ligtas
We share this official poster of Independence Day 2020 which has the theme, “Kalayaan 2020: Tungo sa Bansang Malaya, Nagbabayanihan, at Ligtas (Kalayaan 2020: Towards a Free, United, and Safe Nation.)”
Our Independence Day celebration, despite its simplicity, is no less significant. On 12 June, we will express our gratitude to the people who lead the fight the COVID-19 pandemic — our frontliners. Through their sacrifices of time, energy, expertise, and even their own lives, they strive to keep our nation safe.
As early as today, please continue to #RaiseOurFlag in our homes, offices, and other buildings. We also invite you to visit this Facebook page from time to time to learn more about our rich history and our other activities. And on Independence Day itself, we invite everyone to take pictures while holding a flaglet and a sign that says, “Thank you, frontliners!”
Through these simple acts, we can celebrate our freedom even while staying at home. As we have said before, this pandemic will not stop us Filipinos from celebrating our freedom, a freedom won and defended by our heroes past and present.

On behalf of the Philippine nation, we invite our friends to join us on 12 June 2020 to celebrate 122 years of freedom, unity, and safety as a nation.
As we continue to battle an invisible foe that has affected not only our own country, but nations all throughout the world, we are reminded of our history wherein
our collective resolve and faith in our nation is what brought us to become the country that we are now.
We look forward to a future that is finally free of the COVID-19 pandemic and we hope to see you soon during better times.
When we can all go out again, we hope to invite you to come and visit the Philippines to feel and experience nature in all its splendor.
